Catan card games are not really comparable to the board games. This doesn't mean that they don't play well, that they lack strategy or that they feel as if the game and its namesake are unconnected. Quite the reverse in fact; these are excellent games in their own right, whilst keeping the 'feel' of the originals.

The nature of the game is such that any player who relies soley on one strategy throughout the game can be beaten. The key is to use the flexibility of the rules and the game to your advantage.

These 44 cards replace the dice in your Catan game. They remove some of the luck and add a strategic element to game play. Instead of rolling the dice, the player turns over a card, resolves the event shown on the card and uses the value shown for the production dice roll. Some of the cards trigger special events such as earthquakes, epidemics, and robber attacks! Please note: To play Catan Event Cards you must have Settlers of Catan or Cities and Knights.
